The Backline SLC is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Dr. Karin Westlen-Boyer and her Flow Mobility practice.

​

Karin has more than 30 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics and has spent the last 15 years specializing in pelvic issues.  

 

Karin helps her patients by using the ACT method of align, condition, thrive.  Clients first learn to align their bodies through manual therapy and breathing techniques, then conditioning the body through light weight work.  The final phase of thrive is the strengthening phase to re-learn how to lift, run and move as you desire.

JI feel like I grew up in the fitness world since working in a gym was my first job. After struggles with my own health issues, I realized that practicing a healthy lifestyle was going to be a significant part of my life’s journey.

​

Through my own experiences and academic studies in behavior sciences, I take a holistic and integrated approach to designing programs for my clients including factors such as stress management, sleep habits, nutrition and more.

​

In addition to personal training, I enjoy teaching fitness classes including barre, sports and conditioning classes, Pilates and others.

Masters in Kinesiology

I’ve coached athletes in Atlanta and Salt Lake City since 2009, specializing in sport-specific performance and joint mobility.  My coaching style is energetic, empowering and deeply educational so clients can move better, feel stronger and perform at their highest level. 

​

I have over a decade of experience and a Master’s degree in Kinesiology (2010) and am a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.  I’m also a USA Weightlifting Level 1 coach and a certified Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist.

​

In my own time I enjoy trail running, road cycling and spending time with my dogs.  I also serve on the Utah National Strength and Conditioning Association Board of Directors.
